BMW Concept 7 Protection Armored Concept Car

BMW's Concept 7 Protection is built to look like any other 7 Series, but is armored for protection. Thicker bullet-resistant glass, ballistic steel and composite panels in the doors, and a shielding layer beneath the panoramic sunroof are engineered to withstand selected handgun rounds, including .44 Magnum. The sunroof's sunblind stays closed, rear armor is hidden inside, and the side windows open only partway. The plug-in hybrid powertrain from the M760e xDrive, a six-cylinder engine and an electric motor, makes 612 horsepower, and the chassis and brakes are retuned for the added armor. Occupants can talk to people outside through an intercom, even with the doors closed, and the cabin is trimmed in Smoke White leather and Alcantara. BMW shows it as a concept for a possible expansion of its protection lineup.
