Silence Please x Kouros Maghsoudi Hum Speaker
The speaker stacks at legendary NYC nightclubs like the Limelight, the Tunnel, and Sound Factory weren't décor; they were the whole point. Kouros Maghsoudi and Silence Please channeled that same monolithic energy into the Hum Speaker, a brutalist limited edition that treats hi-fi equipment as sculpture. The design pairs Maghsoudi's stacked geometries and exaggerated curves with Silence Please's Hum platform: a two-way tripod built around a 6.5-inch woofer and a horn-loaded tweeter profiled after the Jean-Michel Le Cléac'h horn, tuned to reach 45Hz without a subwoofer, and engineered for a near-holographic soundstage through its very low diffraction enclosure. Both the Bone and Black colorways arrive in ultra-reflective custom lacquer, with the front driver hidden behind a smooth, unbroken face, the enclosure opening gradually at the rear to expose the speaker itself. Debuted at Silence Please's Bowery listening space during NYCxDesign, the run is limited to ten sets.
