Tannoy Centenary Westminster Royal & Canterbury GR Loudspeakers

Tannoy's name is universal enough that it's now the generic English word for public address systems, and iconic enough that their monitors lined the control room at Abbey Road when Dark Side of the Moon was recorded. To mark 100 years, the Scottish company is releasing limited editions of its two flagship Prestige Gold Reference horns, with both getting enhanced crossovers and upgraded internal cabling over the standard models. The Westminster Royal GR runs a 15-inch Dual Concentric driver in a 530-liter horn cabinet, roughly the size of a wardrobe. At 99dB sensitivity, it sits about 15dB above the typical home speaker, meaning a low-powered tube amp gets them to concert volume where others would strain. The Canterbury GR uses the same driver in a smaller package, standing 43 inches tall to the Westminster's 55. Production runs are tied to the founding year: 19 pairs of the Westminster Royal GR and 26 pairs of the Canterbury GR.
